applicants; disclose Flowers’ confidential or proprietary information. This policy is not intended to interfere with employees’ rights to discuss work related issues with one another, or with any federal, state, or local law. Federal Trade Commission guidelines regulate social media communication pertaining to product endorsements or testimonials. Individuals may be held liable if they offer false or unsubstantiated product endorsements or testimonials or if they fail to disclose any connection between themselves and the product they endorse. If you plan to use social media, adhere to the following principle: Whenever you offer a testimonial or endorse any Flowers product, you must clearly disclose that you are a Flowers employee. Failure to do so may expose the
company to legal and other substantial risks. PROFESSIONAL EMAIL SIGNATURES
As an employee, you serve as a representative of the company and of its brands. Employees who have a company email account must use a business signature with their emails, which presents a consistent and professional image to our customers, vendors, and outside business partners. Appropriate business email signatures should include: • Basic contact information – name, position/title, company name, phone number (office and/or mobile). Optional: Department/function name (ex. Accounts Receivable), email address, mailing or physical address, fax number. • Text only . It is not necessary to use the Flowers Foods or subsidiary logo since the company name is noted in your basic contact information. Brand logos also are not recommended as they take up space and may not be mobile-friendly. Exceptions to this are signatures for Business Unit and Sales employees for whom brand logos represent their job. Business Unit and Sales employees, however, should use restraint and limit brand logos in their email signatures to no more than three. Email signatures should not include: • Images or logos (except as noted above) • Motivational or inspirational quotes; exception – Flowers’ mission, values or culture statement • Multiple fonts or fonts in more than two colors • Links to a Bing or Google map or to personal social media accounts • Background color; all emails should have a white background • Any expression of personality or creativity. Remember, this is a signature at the end of business correspondence.
Below are examples of acceptable email signatures.
