UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE
If you are laid off from work, the Company provides, at no cost to you, benefits through the unemployment insurance program of your state.
SOCIAL SECURITY
The Company pays one-half of the cost for Social Security, and the benefit you receive is in addition to your Retirement Plan Benefit. If you have questions about your Social Security, contact the Human Resources Department. Safety YOUR SAFETY The safety of our team is our top priority. Policies, procedures, and training programs are designed to ensure team members understand and observe safe practices and comply with laws and regulations governing workplace safety and health. Managers and supervisors must understand and uphold all current workplace safety laws and regulations that apply to their areas of responsibility. You play a critical role in making our operations safe, efficient, and profitable. To avoid needless injury, you must follow the Company’s safety and health rules. Flowers asks its employees to report possible safety problems to appropriate company personnel, make suggestions regarding safety controls and warnings, and participate in company safety programs. In the event of an injury, regardless of its seriousness, report it to your supervisor immediately . Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. Report all unsafe behaviors or conditions, as well as near misses, to your supervisor immediately to protect yourself and the team. We need your help to understand how the incident occurred, investigate the incident, and develop corrective actions. If you need additional support, please reach out to the SVP of Safety, Environmental & Sustainability.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
To ensure the protection of all employees, the Company has an Emergency Action Plan that is implemented in emergency situations such as a fire, bomb threat, or severe weather. Emergency procedures and the evacuation route for your department are posted throughout the buildings or available from your supervisor. It is extremely important for you to be aware of the Emergency Action Plan and know what the Company expects you to do during an emergency. Please see your supervisor or the Human Resources Department for more information on this plan.
WORKPLACE VIOLENCE
The Company encourages a professional workplace where employees are treated respectfully. The Company will not tolerate acts of physical violence or acts of intimidation. Any instance of violence must be reported to an employee’s supervisor so the complaint can be fully investigated.
