YOUR SAFETY

Operating in a safe manner is vital to our business success. It has been well documented that a safe running operation is more profitable and more productive. You play a critical role in making our operations safe, efficient, and profitable. On the other hand, poor safety performance can lead to irreversible tragedy. For you to be effective at safety, you will need to understand how to perform your job safely, why it is important for both you and your family to be safe, and make sure that you are doing the work in a safe manner. If at any time you feel like you cannot perform the work in a safe manner or that someone else is putting themselves at serious risk for injury you need to stop work until the issue has been resolved.

We believe that safety is a shared responsibility at the Company. It starts with you taking personal responsibility for your safety and for the safety of those working around you. Safety must be integrated into everything you do. Your actions and behaviors have a tremendous impact on your safety and the safety of others. Therefore, be aware not only of your actions and behaviors, but also the actions and behaviors of those around you. Take action on all unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors and make sure that they get appropriately resolved.

In the event of an injury, regardless of the seriousness of it, report it to your supervisor immediately. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. Your input in understanding how the incident occurred is vital to successfully investigate the incident and develop corrective actions. Report all unsafe behaviors, near misses, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor or ESS Manager immediately.

Always ask questions about anything you do not fully understand about the job or the work you are performing. Make sure you are performing the work in a safe manner. Actively get involved in the safety program at your facility. Engage in all your safety trainings, meetings, while following all safety rules, procedures, and guidelines. Never place your hands into moving equipment.

Be aware that rules, policies, regulations and procedures all serve an essential purpose in helping provide a safe workplace. However, no single program, policy or procedure can guarantee your safety. Therefore, safety is a team effort that requires all of us working together to make the Company a great place to work!
