1.4.5 Vacation: An authorized absence scheduled and approved two (2) weeks prior to the day such vacation commences. The acceptable absence period shall be limited to the amount of continuous vacation days authorized, as governed by the vacation policy. 1.4.6 Holiday: Absence to observe established holidays as authorized per the holiday policy. 1.4.7 Bereavement: Absence resulting from the death of family member as authorized by the governing bereavement policy. 1.4.8 Jury Duty & Witness Service: Is defined as absence resulting from jury duty or subpoenaed witness service as authorized by the governing policy. 1.4.9 Military Service: Absence to fulfill military obligation as defined by the Military Selective Service Act and as authorized by any other policy or contract. 1.4.10 Leave of Absence: Absences for which the employee is placed on approved disability, personal or military leave of absence.
